PRESCHOOL

There is a preschool classroom for ages 3 until Kindergarten.  This classroom uses published material from Cokesbury with an age appropriate Bible lesson, a short memory verse and activities and crafts to reinforce the lesson.  We are excited this year to have 3 teachers cover the entire year (approx 3 months each)  This way the children have continuity and can build a relationship with the teacher.  We also have youth volunteers to help in this classroom.  There is also a brief playtime and a small snack is provided.   

WORKSHOP ROTATION MODEL (K-5th Grade)

For Kindergarten through fifth grade our River of Life Workshop Rotation Program takes place during the Sunday School hour.  Over a four to five week period our children have a lesson in each of our rotation rooms (Drama, Temple, Ruth’s Real World, Media, and Art). Each week they study the same story/theme in a different modality. Each week, the teacher and the room tailors the lesson to the ages of the children who will be there.  A team of 4-5 people writes our curriculum in this area.  Adult volunteers teach the same room for the rotation period (4 or 5 weeks).  This way they become very familiar with the lesson and have the benefit of teaching every age group.
